FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A kidney patient is touring the U.S. spreading the word about a new portable dialysis machine.
57 year-old Harvey Wells says the machine has changed his life allowing him to treat his own blood everyday. Giving him more energy.
Wells says he's been traveling with his new dialysis machine on and off since 2004.
He says many dialysis patients don't know they have this option and wants to share this message.
Kidney Patient Harvey Wells says, “It's given me my life back. I mean without this machine I probably wouldn't be here today. I told my wife, I said, this is going to be so much better because I already feel the difference it made in my treatments and like I said it was the benefits of doing it daily rather than every other day.”
Wells says there should be no additional costs for the patient. Medicare and private insurance will likely pick up additional costs.
