June 18, 2010 Updated Jan 21, 2010 at 5:23 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Police made quick work of a shooting investigation late Wednesday night. Indiana's NewsCenter has confirmed that police arrested 33-year-old Darvon Smith of Fort Wayne during a traffic stop around 11:30 Wednesday night, near the area of Calhoun and Pontiac. He's facing a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, a Class B felony. Police say 28-year-old Jennifer Hair was able to tell them who shot her in the upper torso at a home in the 1200 block of west Main Street, before she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Thursday morning, she was upgraded to serious condition. Police have not found the weapon, but say an argument between Smith and Hair prompted the shooting. Neither one lived at the home where it happened.
