COLUMBIA CITY, Ind (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Conley, Finch and Koontz Equine Hospital will celebrate their grand opening with a ribbon cutting and reception today, January 23, 2010, at 4 p.m.
The hospital is the only private equine facility with a board certified surgeon, in the state of Indiana. The many services offered to patients include ambulatory care, shockwave therapy, 24-hour emergency care, advanced reproduction, advanced lameness, wound management, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and all types of surgery including colic surgery.
According to a study by Purdue University, in 2001 there were more equine operations in Indiana than any other livestock. There are more than 34,000 operations housing 160,000 horses creating 9,221 jobs and more than $207 million in economic impact on the state.
The hospital is located at 2249 South 500 East in Columbia City.
