INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A bill that aims to tighten controls on suspects like Brian Mansfield has gotten unanimous approval in the Indiana Senate.
Mansfield is accused of causing a fatal crash near Woodburn in November with a blood alcohol level nearly five times the legal limit.
Senate Bill 221 passed the Senate Tuesday by a 50 to 0 vote.
It would set up additional monitoring of one-time habitual traffic violators, like Mansfield, in hopes of heading off drunk driving tragedies.
The bill will likely be tackled in the House in the next couple of weeks.
