Concordia Theological Seminary Collecting For Haiti

June 18, 2010 Updated Feb 15, 2010 at 6:10 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Concordia Theological Seminary officials need your help collecting items for Haiti victims. They're collecting "essential items" like food, water and medical supplies beginning Thursday until February 23. A local trucking company is donating a semi and driver to transport the goods to a collection point. Organizer Cynthia Lumley of the CTS Deaconess Department says, “It's extremely important to help the people of Haiti at this time. It's a life or death situation for many of them who are without any of life's basic essentials at the moment.” Items in need: Bottled water Canned food with pop tops (meat and fish particularly needed) Peanut butter Dry rice Dry beans Dish-washing liquid soap Antibacterial ointment Bandages Washcloths Soap Deodorant Individual packets of disinfectant wipes Toothbrushes Toothpaste First aid ointment Hand sanitizing gel Infant formula Vitamins Bedding (sheets, pillows, etc.) Shovels and tools for rebuilding Buckets Tents (2-4 person capacity) Please note: Only those items on the list will be accepted. Clothing is not being collected at this time. Food, hygiene and medicinal items must be new and un-opened. Drop-Off Location and Times: Concordia Theological Seminary Wambsganss Gymnasium Thursday, Feb. 18, 3:00-6:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 3:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
