MARION, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - It’s something Marion city leaders have been doing for the past six years, creating enticing economic incentive packages to convince businesses like the Earthbound RV LLC to set up shop in Grant County.

“We don't look just at Marion, we look at the whole region and how's it going to affect central Indiana,” said Marion Mayor Wayne Seybold.

“What kind of employers are in the central Indiana area, what other suppliers are in central Indiana. We put together a whole package based on things not just in Marion and Grant County but the whole region,” said Seybold.

Earthbound RV will use a 90,000 square foot facility on South 38th Street in Marion to build fuel-efficient recreational vehicles.

Executives plan to hire about 60 workers in 2010. The company hopes to have 300 workers earning 18 dollars an hour by 2013.

“There are some local assets here that are already engaged in facilitating some of the components for RV Industry today. So its looking like there going to be able to get together with Earthbound,” said Darren Reese, the Director of Development Services for the City of Marion.

Earthbound plans on producing vehicles at their new Marion facility in March because the company has 3.7 million dollars worth of back orders to build.
