FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Allen County Prosecutor's Office will handle the Todd Leary criminal case after all.

Superior Court Judge Fran Gull has ruled that no special prosecutor appointment is warranted.

Gull acknowledged that Deputy Prosecutor Mike McAlexander was a victim of a mortgage fraud scheme involving an associate of Leary, but the judge said as long as McAlexander stays out of the case, no conflict of interest exists.

Leary, who faces 17 felony counts, is a former IU basketball standout and color commentator for the school.
