FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Guitar enthusiasts are getting a very rare experience at Sweetwater Sound this weekend.

Legendary guitar maker Paul Reed Smith has brought his "private wood library" to Sweetwater.

This will allow customers from across the country to come to Fort Wayne to hand pick from his unique collection and design every aspect of their custom guitar.

It's the first time Reed Smith has made his collection available outside his Maryland office.

Michael Ross of Sweetwater Sound says, “He looks for very unique and special pieces of wood that he builds custom guitars out of. Well, this is the first time ever, anywhere in the world that he has agreed to bring that private wood library and put it out for customers to be able to see and come in and pick from the ground up, every single component to build a custom guitar.”

Paul Reed Smith is at Sweetwater Friday night and all day Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

His guitars are favored by famous artists ranging from Ted Nugent to Carlos Santana.
