FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - To help get the community pumped up for the girls state basketball championship games Saturday local organizations put on a pep rally at Spiece Fieldhouse.
Nearly 500 people came out Friday night for free food, raffles, slam-dunk contests and autograph signing sessions.
Organizers say this spirited event was a first for state championship games.
Gerald Hirschy with Spiece Fieldhouse says, “You realize this is the first time in 100 years of Indiana basketball that this has ever happened. This is history.”
Taylor Linville of the Rushvill Lady Lions says, “This really is a way to calm the nerves down and have a little fun and not worry about tomorrow and just have fun right now.”
All Proceeds Will Be Donated To The Vera Bradley Foundation.
