FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - City officials announced Wednesday that 13 Fort Wayne businesses will share $260,000 in grant money to remodel their facades.
The announcement came outside Jamison Meats on north Anthony, one of the grant recipients.
Part of the grant requires business owners to match a minimum of one-dollar in investment for each grant dollar.
Officials say the Commercial Facade Grant Program means jobs and a better city.
Mayor Tom Henry said, “I think it adds to the quality of life of our community. Sidewalks and curbs and parks are all very important to those who are looking at our city for future investment, but to take a look at our businesses along our business corridors to see how they're investing I think speaks volumes.”
This marks the second year for the facade grant program.
