FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The victim of a northeast side overnight shooting has died and the suspect is now in custody, charged with murder.
The Allen county Coroner has ruled the shooting death of 23-year-old Wade Reader of Fort Wayne a homicide.
It's reported that The victim was shot during an argument with 25-year-old Matthew Pufahl that took place around 3:15 Thursday morning.
Reader and Pufahl had been arguing over the past week, but the feud came to a head overnight. The two men were arguing at a local bar overnight when police say they got kicked out and carried the argument to the Canterbury Green apartment complex.
There, before several witnesses, officials say Pufahl pulled a gun and shot Reader, critically injuring him.
Reader later died at a local hospital.
Officer Raquel Foster of the FWPD says, "The suspect and victim were asked to leave. They left but agreed to meet here in this apartment complex. There was probably five to six people involved in the disturbance and when they arrived here the group met, the victim was shot and the suspect fled the scene."
