Bishop Dwenger Principal Fred Tone Announces Retirement

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -After more than four decades of service the principal of Bishop Dwenger High School will soon say good-bye.

Fred Tone announced his retirement to staff and students Thursday to students.

He has worked at Dwenger for the past 42-years in a variety of positions, starting as a history teacher and now ending as principal.

Tone says, “Bishop Dwenger is a family. I became indoctrinated into that family immediately. It wasn't just a job, it was a family. I found myself completely immersed in that philosophy.”

Tone will step away so he can spend more time with his family, specifically his five very adorable grandchildren.
