FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) – It’s the number one question on the minds of Pleasant Center Elementary School Parents. What’s next for my child, if their school closes?

Parents say Tuesday night's informational meeting, did nothing to calm their fears.

They still have many questions... like what school will my child go to next school year?

PTA President Amanda Landers says she feels FWCS officials are just going through the motions.

Questions like will the Ardmore rock quarry buy Elmhurst High School and will the FWCS transportation department take over Pleasant Center's land were left unanswered.

She also says another big issue is the possibility of dozens of students transferring outside of the district if Pleasant Center Elementary Schools closes.

”I know of at least ten to twenty children that are leaving Fort Wayne Community Schools. They have to take that into account because they’re losing all that income from the children leaving. It’s not worth it,” expressed Pleasant Center PTA President Amanda Landers, who agreed to a special follow up interview with Indiana's NewsCenter.

Parents were unsatisfied with attempts to answers most questions and the overall tone of the meeting.

“It doesn't change anything. Pleasant Center is going to close. I'm almost 100% sure. You can tell by the way she (Dr. Wendy Robinson) answers questions and they way she ((Dr. Wendy Robinson) talks it doesn't matter what we say,” said Landers.

Meanwhile, Indiana's NewsCenter investigated what affect would transferring students have on the district's bottom line.

If you multiply 12 transferring students by the 4,500 dollars in funding the district receives per student -- that's at least 54,000 dollars FWCS would lose next school year.

That means more than 10% of the district’s projected 500,000 dollars in savings from closing Pleasant Center would promptly leave the district's general fund.
