WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Late Thursday morning, President Obama signed an $18 billion jobs package in the White House Rose Garden.

The measure would give companies that hire "unemployed" workers a temporary payroll tax break.

It's estimated the new law would generate 250,000 jobs in the next six months, though critics are skeptical of that figure.

The bill also provides funding for highway and transportation projects.
