FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Sources tell Indiana's NewsCenter that officials with Northwest Allen County Schools have chosen a new superintendent.

We're told Chris Himsel, the current superintendent for Kokomo schools will soon take the position at NACS.

District officials will not confirm or deny it, but an official announcement is expected next week.

Mr. Himsel will enter the district as a time when officials are struggling to cut $2.4 million dollars from their budget. He may have the experience district officials are looking for.

While in Kokomo, Himsel oversaw the reorganization of the district's elementary and middle schools, a move that cut $3.7 million.

Mr. Himsel will fill the position vacated by Steven Yeager, who left the district in June 2009 to become the head of Southwest Allen County Schools.
