INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Employers and workers in Indiana are deeply concerned about how health care reform legislation will impact coverage, premiums and bottom lines.
Inside Indiana Business representatives say private insurance providers in the Hoosier state have reason to be worried about the earth shaking changes that could be coming.
But Gerry Dick with the business news outlet says Warsaw's highly profitable orthopedic companies are especially nervous.
Dick said, “That industry hit with a huge, multi-billion dollar tax. Companies in Warsaw came out and said, they're glad it wasn't increased. They're right now taking a wait and see, and see attitude."
Proponents of the tax hike on orthopedic companies say it was justified, because it's expected millions of new patients might be able to afford artificial hip and knee operations for the first time under reforms.
