FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A trial date is set for a Fort Wayne man charged in the attempted murder and molesting of a five-year-old girl.
38-year-old Dorris Merriweather III will have a trial setting on April 27th.
He is charged with attempted murder, three counts of molesting, burglary and criminal confinement.
Police say on April 3rd of 2003, Merriweather went into a Fort Wayne home, took a five-year-old girl, sexually assaulted and strangled her, and left her for dead in the woods.
