FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The TinCaps opened their new season the same way they went out last season, with a big win.
More than 7,000 fans ignored the chilly, dreary weather and packed seats at Parkview Field Thursday night to watch the 2009 Midwest League Champs take on the new Bowling Green Hot Rods.
And the fans weren't disappointed.
The TinCaps won 7- 2 and celebrated with a fireworks show after the game.
Championship hopeful Brian Faus said, “Oh I think a repeat! Absolutely a repeat! I think it's possible. They have a decent amount of players back from last year."
Matt Sehlmeyer said, “They still look as good as last year and I have looked up a few things that say they're still supposed to be good so hopefully it comes true!"
The TinCaps play Bowling Green again Friday night at Parkview Field.
