FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Freshmen from the University of Saint Francis and fifth graders at Most Precious Blood Elementary are checking results from Thursday's balloon launch experiment.

They discovered that eggs hard-boiled, soft-boiled, or raw will explode at the edge of space.

Also cockroaches did survive after a trip to the edge of the atmosphere.

And Corn Kernals that made the round trip to the final frontier and back have been planted.

So we'll find out next fall if that helps corn grow.

The balloon reached the top of the atmosphere in about an hour, and it took only 30 minutes to land back on earth.
