FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Big plans for the Lamplight Inn, an assisted living facility moving into the Fort Wayne Hotel on Washington.

Each floor will have common areas with great rooms.

A physical therapy practice will be on the bottom floor with dining areas, a media room and pool.

And the exterior paint will be changed to a neutral shade.

Owners hope all this will help make the decision to move into "assisted living," easier.

CEO of Lamplight Communities Severine Petras says, “You know it's just a tough decision to say, I can't care for my family or my loved one and this is the best alternative for them because it keeps them in their independence and allows them to continue to live their life the way they were in their house, but with some of the less stresses and some of the less maintenance pieces.”

A third of the building's previous employees have been offered jobs.

The owners are helping the others find work.
