FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne woman who sued the city after being accused of stealing an item from a restaurant gets a sizable settlement.
Lori Squadrito received $23,000 in damages from the city of Fort Wayne, and $3,000 from Frickers restaurant.
Squadrito claimed officers Scott Morales and Doug Haskell violated the fourth amendment against illegal search and seizure in October of 2007 by entering and searching her home without a warrant, using excessive force and failing to read Miranda Rights.
Morales later apologized for his actions, and was suspended for three days in April, 2008.
