DETROIT (Indiana's NewsCenter) - General Motors is turning a profit for the first time since 2007.
The American carmaker earned $865 million in the first quarter of this year.
It comes after a tumultuous time for GM, which emerged from bankruptcy last summer and then still posted two quarters of losses.
But sales are up and costs are down after the automaker closed factories and cut jobs.
