FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - For people looking for a little sporting action this summer a new feature is being offered by the Fort Wayne Parks Department.

Officials have created the first Pickleball courts at Lions Park after a group from the Community Center campaigned to bring the sport to the Summit City.

Pickleball is described as a combination of Badminton, Ping-Pong and Tennis and is designed for athletes of all ages.

Pickleball Senior Games Coordinator Norman Cramer says, “The game is designed for anybody who's willing to get out here and play. If you think the youth have the advantage, watch the players play, you'll find out they have no more advantage than someone sixties or their seventies."

The parks department is offering free Pickleball lessons throughout the summer.
