FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne City Council is moving to give Lutheran Hospital a tax break for its new construction project.
The council's finance committee Tuesday night approved Lutheran's request for an "economic revitalization area" designation, which would save the company about $4.5 million.
Lutheran officials are planning to add a 5th floor to the main hospital on west Jefferson Boulevard, which would specialize in critical patients and cardiac needs.
The city council is expected to take a final vote on the request in 2 weeks.
