WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A Purdue student newspaper, The Exponent, is filing a lawsuit, through the ACLU, against Purdue University for access to surveillance video.
The video in question is said to contain footage of a confrontation between a journalist and police at the school. The suit claims Purdue University erroneously labeled the video as evidence and that Purdue won't release the footage as required by public records access laws.
During the confrontation, the journalist was allegedly pushed to the ground and shoved into a wall following the murder of Andrew Boldt last January. A release from the ACLU claims that the journalist identified himself and was in an area that police had not sealed off.
