Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne woman pleaded guilty to felony neglect of a dependent and was sentenced on the spot.

Police say in March, 28-year-old Amber Tinsley left her five children, ages three to nine, home alone while she went out drinking.

She told them she'd just been in the back yard, smoking.

Tinsley was sentenced to one year in jail, but the judge suspended it and put her on a year of active probation.
