Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Two Allen County nonprofits announced that they’ll be merging to better serve Allen County’s rapidly growing population of older adults and individuals living with disabilities.

Effective July, 1st, 2012 Allen County Council on Aging (ACCOA) will merge with Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS).

John Rogers, ACCOA Board President, added, “In a time of tight budget constraints, the ACCOA Board was committed to finding the right partner to ensure that services would not only continue but expand for our clients in Allen County. This opportunity to join with AIHS provides us with the perfect avenue to secure services both now and in the years to come.”

“We are excited to have the Allen County Council on Aging merge into our organization and believe that combining the efforts and resources of both organizations will offer new opportunities to serve the residents of Allen County,” noted Heidi Adair, AIHS Board Chair, “Our goal is to make this a seamless transition for clients and to maintain the supportive care for all who rely on it.”

You can still call the same numbers to connect with the organization.

In August, the Council on Aging will move next door to AIHS on Lake Avenue.
