St. Joseph Township, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - After two months on the job Saint Joseph Township's fire chief stepped down. Tim Jones officially resigned Tuesday afternoon.

The acting chief David Ringer says Jones left on good terms. Ringer says Jones is pursuing other professional opportunities.

The former fire department, that had been serving the community until the end of 2012, was dissolved January 1, 2013. That's when this new department was formed.

"We are changing and we're looking at it as a positive direction and we are going to keep moving forward. And the residents of St. Joe Twp, we're there for them and I think that's been the direction from the trustee moving forward that the trustee is for the residents of Saint Joe Township and we're going to keep moving forward with that," said David Ringer, St. Joseph Township Fire Rescue.

Many questions still surround the new department, which has still not provided the public a list of its certified firefighters.
