Allen County Police Discover One Kilo Of Heroin

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A traffic stop led to police discovering one kilo of heroin Thursday evening.

Around 6:20, an Allen County police officer pulled over 32-year-old Miguel Verduzco-Velazouez for a traffic violation. When the officer took Velazouez's information, they noticed Velazouez had a suspended license.

The officer exited their squad car after checking the information and Velazouez began to run and led police on a foot chase through Greenwood cemetery. He was eventually apprehended.

Police then searched the vehicle and discovered a little over one Kilo of heroin with an estimated street value of over $70,000. Velazouez is being held with no bond on numerous charges.
