ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The 4th annual County Health Rankings report revealed that among Indiana's 92 counties, Allen County Ranks 40th in terms of overall health.

The report considers several factors in 30 separate categories, such as the rate of people dying before age 75, the county's physical environment, levels of poverty and unemployment and residents' access to medical care.

Dr. Deborah McMahan, Allen County health commissioner, told our partner in news, The Journal Gazette that she is not happy with the overall trends shown in the report.

Allen County's adult obesity rate is at 33% which is the same as last year but the records show that the county has been shown a growing obesity rate since 2004.

Fast food locations make up 46% of the restaurants in the county, but McMahan said it's time to stop blaming the restaurants.

The report showed that in Allen County, 22% of residents smoke, 17% drink excessive amounts of alcohol and 26% do not engage in many physical activities.

Topping the counties as the healthiest in the state is Hamilton County and coming in dead last is Scott County.
