FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Looking for some last-minute Holiday gifts? Why not buy American-made gifts from right here in Northeast Indiana?

There are Cinda B handbags in Fort Wayne, Annie Oakley perfume in Ligonier, Sechler's Pickles in St. Joe, and Folkcraft Instruments in Woodburn—to name a few. There’s even a store in Angola called American Made Shopper that includes nothing but products that are made in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

According to the Alliance for American Manufacturing, the average American spends $700 on holiday gifts, equaling to over $400 billion spent nationwide during the holidays.

A field coordinator with AAM says buying American-made products can help create four to five new jobs within the community.

“If you think about spending just $64 more a year or this Holiday season on American-made products, we can all together create 200 thousand jobs,” said Rachel Bennett Steury, field coordinator with AAM.

Bennett Steury says the easiest way to tell if something is made in America is to check the label on the packaging.
