Apartment Renter Escapes Late Night Fire

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Fire Department is still investigating an apartment fire from late Tuesday night.

Firefighters were called to the 900 block of Third Street just after 10 o'clock.

They saw flames and smoke billowing out of the second floor apartment.

A woman was in the house nd escaped without injury.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze before it spread to the rest of the house.

They also saved a cat that was inside.

Officials say the fire damaged the back-side of the house.
