Apparent Explosive Device Found In Kendallville Apt. Complex

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (21Alive) -- On Sunday a little before 10 p.m. the Kendallville Police Department was notified by an anonymous caller that a bomb was located in the Maple Crest Apartments.

Kendallville police responded to the apartment complex in the 600 block of Mitchell St. and found a device within the building after a short search. According to police, the device appeared to be explosive and officers began an evacuation of the building immediately.

By 10:22 p.m. an Indiana State Police bomb technician had removed the device. No specific information on the device was released yet.
