Arson Suspected In S. Barr Street Fire, Juvenile Arrested

FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- Emergency personnel are responding to a structure fire at 2902 S. Barr Street.

According to initial reports, a man was seen running from the scene and it is suspected that the fire may have been intentionally set, according to FWFD Spokeswoman Stacy Fleming.

Reports initially came in of the fire around 10:15 and it took fire crews several minutes to get under control. Around 10:40 reports came in that a suspect had been taken into custody in the 600 block of Colerick.

Four neighboring structures sustained heat damage from the fire and no injuries were reported.

According to the FWFD spokesperson, a juvenile has been arrested following the continuing investigation into the fire.
