Auburn's Auto Auction Revving Up for Labor Day Crowds

Auburn, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The anticipation for the annual auto auction is growing in Auburn.

With more than a-thousand classics, exotics, hot rods, and muscle cars up for bid this Labor Day weekend is sure to impress.

Jeff Bowman traveled up to the auction grounds for a sneak peek at what's on the auction block.

Check out the photo gallery for pictures of some of the beautiful vehicles up for auction this year.

Below is a list of additional activities / features that will be on-site during the four-day sale. Please let me know if any of them spark your interest:

- Helicopter rides (Friday, Aug. 31 – Sunday, Sept. 2)

- Monster truck rides (Saturday, Sept. 1 – Sunday, Sept. 2)

- “50 Years of Shelby American” seminar on Friday, Aug. 31, at 9 a.m. – Complimentary breakfast for attendees starts at 8:30 a.m. and admission to the seminar is free as long as you purchased a general admission ticket

- Two motorcycles and one classic car will be auctioned to support 2 local charities on Sunday, Sept. 2 - the family of U.S. Army Sgt. JaBraun Knox who was killed in action in Afghanistan on Friday, May 18, and Fort Wayne Base Community Council Military Support Fund.

- Celebrity auctioneer is Barry Weiss from A&E TV Show’s “Storage Wars” – he will conduct an autograph session on Sat. from 2-4 pm, & Sunday 1-3 pm & 4-5 pm & will assist with the charity auction.

- Three-time Indy 500 driver Bobby Unser will also be on-site throughout the weekend mingling with the crowd.

- Feature cars on display include the Decoliner, a combination of a 1973 GMC Motorhome with the cab of a 1955 hauler, and 3 versions of the Batmobile.

- A 1986 Eagle Motorcoach that ordered by Willie Nelson will be offered at the auction - The name of the tour bus is ‘Me & Paul’ otherwise known as ‘The Scout II’, built specially for Willie Nelson drummer, Paul English, and used by the band from 1986 to 1999.
