Ball State Bus Fire Closes I-69 Southbound (PHOTOS)

FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) -- A Ball State University bus fire closed both southbound lanes of I-69 in Fishers near 126th St. during the noon hour.

Large plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the fire.

Firefighters at the scene say only the bus driver was on board at the time of the fire, and the driver escaped safely. No injuries were reported and the fire is now under control.

As of 1:06 pm, one southbound lane was back open.
