FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter)--A man who was said to be suicidal held Fort Wayne Police at bay for three hours early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Home Avenue just before 12:30 Sunday morning on a report of a disturbance.
Police say once there the man made threats to harm a person inside the home and made threats of suicide.
Two people inside the home were able to escape to safety.
According to investigators the suspect was seen with a knife and a crossbow and he reported to officers that he had a firearm and began throwing fireworks at the officers who were on the perimeter of the scene.
However, a firearm was not discovered during a subsequent search of the home.
Several neighboring homes were evacuated for safety reasons.
