RUSHVILLE, Ind. (21Alive) - A Bluffton man died Monday in a crash in Rush County, Indiana.

Indiana State Police say Jed Olvey, 63, was driving north on SR3 south of Rushville around noon, when he crossed into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.

Olvey's car hit the rear of the trailer portion of the semi, police say, and was wedged underneath the trailer. The back end of the trailer then drove over top the car.

Police say a second vehicle, an SUV following the semi, also hit Olvey's car.

Olvey died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and released. The driver of the semi was not injured.

It is not know why Olvey's drove left of center.

A portion of SR3 was shutdown for nearly four hours after the crash.
