March 31, 2014 Updated Apr 1, 2014 at 1:54 PM EDT

MARION, Ind. (21Alive) - A suspicious package was found and detonated Monday afternoon by a police bomb squad.

According to authorities, a box was hand delivered to Kiley, Harker & Certain law firm addressed to Rebecca Loeffler. The receptionist accepted the package but had second thoughts since the box had no return address and was duct taped close. She placed the box outside and called police.

A Grant County Sheriff's Department K-9 dog further alarmed authorities to the package potentially containing explosives.

An Indiana State Police bomb squad was called in, and detonated the package around 7:00.

As it turns out, paper, a calculator and a broken wine glass were found inside.
