Boyfriend Accused of Confining, and Strangling Girlfriend Over Three Days

Leesburg, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A Leesburg man suspected of strangling his girlfriend was arrested after a concerned caller asked police to check on the neighbor’s safety.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to the 300 block of Smith Street on Friday night in regards to a welfare check on the female neighbor. When police arrived the victim and the boyfriend Shane Senter, 37, exited the home. Officers noticed the victim very disoriented with noticeable bruises covering her face and neck.

She told deputies that she had been confined in the house for almost three days and had allegedly struck her several times as well as strangled her to the point where she almost lost consciousness.

Senter was jailed and preliminarily charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement, and strangulation. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
