KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Detectives arrested a Leesburg man Thursday afternoon after he fired a handgun in a neighborhood near Barbee Lake.
Shortly after 3 PM Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a “shots fired” call and were dispatched to the area near the Jot’em Down convenience store.
Officers spotted the vehicle matching the description from the 911 call and located the driver, 25-year-old Wes A. Kern of Leesburg.
Kern was taken into custody without incident and preliminarily charged with felony criminal recklessness with a firearm. Kern’s bond was set at $2,000.
Kern’s step-brother, 29-year-old Brooks L Kuhl, was also discovered and arrested on two outstanding warrants through Kosciusko County. Kuhl was arrested for felony theft and driving while suspended, also a $2,000 bond.
