Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The drought has really dried up business for area fireworks retailers.
On what should be one of their busiest days of the year. Many stores remain empty of customers and still full of fireworks.
Store Manager Michael Hensley says, “Our business is down, probably in the neighborhood of about 80% maybe a little bit more, it started off with down about ten percent, but as it has gotten closer, the fireworks bans and the media saying it will be imposed, it has gotten, it has gotten worse and worse as everyday has gone by.”
Hensley went on to say he is optimistic that business will pick up Thursday from people stocking up for next year.
