FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana Senator Evan Bayh and the man who hopes to replace him, Brad Ellsworth, are flying across the state Friday making stops focused on bringing jobs back to Indiana.

One of the four stops on their statewide tour was in Fort Wayne.

Ellsworth said that his opponent's commercials have not truthfully reflected his record.

Both Ellsworth and Bayh have moved away from the view of many in the Democratic Party when it comes to one controversial issue, extending the Bush Tax Cuts past this year.

Ellsworth said, “We know that the situation is improving but our economy is still fragile, so now would be the wrong time to let those expire".

Bayh said, "We both favor keeping taxes low and extending them at least until the economy gets better and my own belief is that we should have done that right now.”

Ellsworth continues to trail his opponent, Dan Coats, in recent polls. When asked about his own political future, Senator Bayh said we'll see, but said, his wife will be the first to know.
