Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Fort Wayne couple who had nearly 100 cats removed from their rented home on Elmer Street are appealing their sentence.
Constance Anderson and Jeffrey Tourney both received a one and a half year sentence after initially being charged with criminal mischief, and animal cruelty.
Monday morning, a judge determined both are eligible for a public defender if they choose not to hire a private one to appeal their sentence.
In June Animal Care and Control had to wear hazmat suits while removing nearly 100 cats from their Elmer Street home, and an additional 23 from another home they rented, 14 of which were found dead.
