SANDUSKY, Ohio (21Alive) -- One of America's most famous amusement parks is calling off a Friday the 13th Wedding promotion.

Officials with Cedar Point thought it would be fun to host a Friday the 13th Wedding for 13 couples in September. But a gay couple realized the fine print said only couples allowed to get married legally in Ohio would be allowed to participate.

Gay marriage is against the law in Ohio and the couple took to social media to get the park to change the rules.

When that happened, Cedar Point quickly called off the wedding completely, issuing a statement that the promotion was cancelled because of "political undertones". The statement also mentioned that the park does not take any official stance on political issues.
