Charges Added Against Man Accused of Beating Wife with a Hammer

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - An additional charge has been filed against a Fort Wayne man who police say beat his estranged wife with a hammer.

69-year-old Raul Garcia now faces a charge of attempted murder.

He was arrested in July and held on an aggravated battery charge.

Police say he struck Rebecca Garcia numerous times in the head with the hammer.

She has since recovered from her injuries.
