(Indiana's NewsCenter) -- A Federal Appeals court says Indiana's Sex and Violent Offender Registry needs to be fixed.
The court says the registry, run by the Department of Corrections , doesn't give offenders who are not imprisoned the chance to challenge their listing in the registry in the same way inmates can.
The problem came to light when an Indiana man who was listed as a sexual predator actually was never convicted on that charge and he couldn't appeal his listing in the registry.
