Phone calls ask residents for personal information

CrimeStoppers Warns Of Scam

Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- CrimeStoppers is warning residents that if you recieve a call from CrimeStoppers asking for personal information to not give it out.

The CrimeStoppers office has received several calls from residents saying that someone is calling from an 1-800 number identifying themselves as some one from CrimeStoppers asking for address information as well as the layout of their homes.

CrimeStopper's Executive Director Greg Lewis says at no time will his office ask for that kind of information.
