Dad Beats Up Youth Coach and Bites Off Portion of His Ear

SPRINGFIELD, MA., (Indiana's NewsCenter)--- In an act of rage, authorities say a dad attacked the opposing 6th grade basketball coach after his son's team lost a game, then bit off part of the coach's ear.

According to local TV station , after his son's team lost in the Catholic Youth Organization finals, Timothy Lee Forbes assaulted the winning coach, then bit off part of his ear, authorities said.

Forbes, a 34-year old Springfield resident, was arrested and charged with mayhem, assault and battery and other criminal charges.The stricken coach was rushed to a local hospital where he underwent a procedure to have the severed portion of his ear reattached.
