Dog's Barking Alerts Owner of Danger Moments Before Roof Collapse

Indianapolis (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Early Tuesday morning on the north side of Indianapolis a woman was rudely awakened by a tree crashing through the roof of her home, right above her bed.

Indianapolis fire crews were called to the home located near 74th Street and Fitch Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. of report of a structure collapse. When crews arrived they found a large tree crushing a portion of the roof.

According to WRTV the woman said her dog may have sensed danger and began barking frantically, waking her before the tree fell.

The woman and her dog were not seriously injured.

Firefighters did not immediately release information on what may have caused the tree to fall.
